Card Cupids Valentine Card

Hello friends! Here is a card I made for Card Cupids. They are asking for Valentine cards. I used PK-M02 mini turtle.

To make the reverse image, I stamped the turtle onto an acrylic block. Some people prefer to stamp onto a piece of acetate, or perhaps you have a reverse image stamp. I like to use the acrylic block because I don't have the steadiest hands, so this method works best for me. Press the paper to the block and carefully lift off.

The image isn't crisp, so you will want to use a fine line black marker to go over it. Since I use copics to color my images, I use a copic multiliner pen to trace over the image. This is a pen made for copic coloring so the image doesn't bleed.
Thanks for stopping by. If you have any questions please leave a comment and I will get back to you. Have a great day and if you would like to make some Valentine's for a great cause, you can read more about it here.

A Couple of Challenge Projects

Here are a couple of projects I made. For the hot air balloon we were given the template, and we could do whatever we wanted. I used MSS-04 Sure Miss You from Market Street Stamps, and chose colors that were bright, bold and cheerful. I used copics and some blue Colorbox pigment ink to sponge around the edge of the balloon.

The second challenge was to use card board in your project. I had some white cardboard that I removed from a box. I tore some of the white paper off and stamped the little girl, Betsy from B Line designs. I added a small bit of color to the image and then proceeded to add layers to create a vintage, collage type of artwork. It is a large envelope with a tag inside, by Melissa Frances. I love vintage style, but rarely devote much time to it. Thanks for stopping by. I have a couple more projects that I will be posting soon.

Card Cupids Giraffe

Here is a card I made for Card Cupids. Isn't this giraffe adorable? You can find out more about this cute digi here. You can read more about Card Cupids by visiting their site here. I printed the giraffe onto the green gingham paper and onto white cardstock as well. I cut out all the white spots for the giraffe, glued them in place and colored some of them yellow. Gave the giraffe a cute little bow, added a couple of polka dot brads to complete the look. Thanks for visiting!
Happy Holidays!

Do You See What I See?

Good morning! Today I have some tips to share. I love to find unique ways to use dies or stamps to create things other than what they were originally intended to be. Here are a few things I created after seeing the cuts from the Mushroom Trio die. There are other images I can see that I would like to make. If I have time, I will make more and edit my post. I hope this inspires you to think outside the box. Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas! Happy Holidays!
Hugs and smiles!

Card Cupids (New site I found)

Hello Everyone!
While blog hopping yesterday, I happened upon this site while reading a post by Christina M. Brooks. Her post touched me so I headed on over to Card Cupids. This is their Mission Statement.
Mission:
Card Cupids mission is to provide encouragement and joy by sending Card Cuddle Care Packages to children who are facing difficult challenges in their young lives regardless of their economic background.

From there I headed over to the Etsy shop for card cupids. I purchased both images, but today I used the lion. I printed the lion on 3 different papers, white, coral, and a coral plaid. I then paper pieced the image, added light copic shading, layered the card and finished with an orange gingham bow. I am sure this adorable lion will put a smile on some child's face. I hope you check out Card Cupids. Maybe you, too, will be inspired to send a card to brighten someone's day. Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a great day!

Penguin Pals

These little penguins are the best of friends! This is PK-318 Penguin Doll Set. This is the stamp set. They also have Cottage Cutz dies if you prefer to cut your images and paper piece. After stamping the penguins a few times and not doing such a great job eyeballing my images, I had a light bulb moment. Maybe you all know this already, but it was new to me. I thought put the main image on the acrylic block, turn it over and line up the hat with the penguin. Stamp the hat.

Line up the scarf on the block, remove the hat stamp, then stamp the scarf. No need to mask the hat yet as the scarf will not overlap the hat. Stamp the hat and the scarf on scrap paper or masking paper or a post it and cut out. You only need to cut the hat where the face will be, however, you do need to cut the scarf out completely. I tacked the scarf with a little adhesive tape and just put the hat mask in place. Then I stamped the penguin image over the masked hat and scarf. Remove the masks. Now it is ready to color. I hope this information is helpful! I like to look for easier ways to do things. For me, this is easier than using a card positioning system. Of course this can only be done with clear stamps. You would have to use a CPS with wood or cling stamps if you need precision.

I stamped mittens around the penguins to frame them, added some glitter and twine to finish the card. The images were colored with various copic markers. If you have any questions, please ask away in the comment section, and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs and smiles,
Janice

Our Finest Cheese We Bring

Here is a little 8x8 inch wall decoration I made using PK-350. Colby and Jack Cheese set.

I absolutely love these little mice! For the pennant banner I used a triangle punch and then drew and colored them to look like cheese. For the Christmas tree I used the stamp from PK-231 Snowflakes.

I stamped the sentiment and drew the "cheesy" tree stand. All the images were colored with copics. The twine is Martha Stewart. The rats on the banner were punched with a Martha Stewart punch. The ornaments on the tree are various colors of stickles. I used a white shadow box frame that I had purchased at "The Christmas Tree Shop".

These Peachy Keen Stamps just make me so happy. Who can resist all those adorable faces? I will be posting some cheeseheads soon. They are so darn cute too! Hope you like my Colby and Jack!
Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate all your visits and comments. You make my day.
Hugs and smiles!

Peachy Keen Challenge 42

Good morning! Time for another Peachy Keen Challenge. This weeks challenge is to use embossing somewhere on your project. You may choose to do heat embossing, a cuttlebug folder, or hand embossing, whichever you prefer. I used heat and cuttlebug embossing. I stamped the image on patterned paper and solid cardstock and heat embossed the images with super fine gold embossing powder. I then cut out various parts from each image to put my angel together. I used a glossy ivory patterned cardstock for the cuttlebugged background, assembled the card, and added ribbon for the finishing touch. The card looks much better in real life. I hope you will find some time to play along. You will want to see what the rest of the team has cooked up for this challenge. Lots of Peachy Keen cuteness going on, of course! It would be difficult to be anything but cute with all the adorable stamps they have. Have fun!

Home-made Wobbly's

Hi everyone! After seeing all those cute cards with the wobbles, I thought I would try and make my own. My first thought was to coil some thin wire. That worked ok, and probably could be better if I tweaked it. It was a little bulky though. Then I thought I would use discarded plastic from blister packs, like the clear plastic from a cuttlebug folder package. I used a 1 inch circle punch. Then I just cut the circle into a swirl, like a snail. Then I punched some 1/2" circles from cardstock. After cutting the swirl, you should cut along the swirl again so that there is space between the swirls. Makes the action better. It still needs tweaking but it works if you don't want to wait until the real ones come out in January. If you try it out, let me know so I can have a look. Thanks for stopping by. Sorry some of the pictures are blurry.
