A Single Rose to say I Love You!

Hello Cottage Cutz Fans!!

When I received the Cottage Cutz Rose die in the mail, I knew it was one that I would really like. I made this card for my husband. It was inspired by the glass rose in the photo. My husband, High School Sweetheart, gave me this glass rose when I was 16. Though it has lost a petal or two and the color has faded it is still very special to me! My mom loved roses too, and she had this displayed in her curio cabinet for years. It was safer in her hands than mine with all the moving my husband and I did in the early years of our marriage. I hope you like the card. This die is very easy to assemble. I cut the rose from white cardstock and colored with copics. There are only 6 pieces to assemble with this die. Even though it is easy, it still has lots of detail. Here isanother rose card I did, as well as the Furry Teddy Bear. Enjoy your day today!

Market Street Stamps Sneak Peek

Hello Market Street Friends!

I have a couple of cards to share with you tonight. I used the new Hearts a Plenty background stamp which will be available for purchase on Fri. 12 A.M. midnight. I love all of the background stamps that Angelica has designed. They measure 4.25 x 5.5"(fits an A2 card perfectly). They are so versatile and stamp so clean and crisp! I used Onyx Black Versafine ink to stamp the background. Since I was not using copics this was my ink of choice. It really stamps the image vividly and really black.

I stamped 2 images onto Whisper White cardstock. I used my paper trimmer to cut three 1 1/2 inch squares. I used a Marvy scallop punch to frame the squares.
For the other card I used the full image. I know that black might not be your first choice for hearts but I am quite happy with the results. Sometimes stepping outside the box is a good thing. Let me know what you think.

Market Street Stamps is having a blog hop tomorrow night, Thursday, at 7 P.M. CST. I am thrilled to be a part of the hop as Guest Designer! Thank you Angelica! It has been a fun month and I have really been enjoying your wonderful stamps.

There is still some time to grab the discount code, valid thru January 31. It is posted on my left sidebar, but if you can't see it, here it is.... JANICE15. You will receive 15% off of your purchase at Market Street Stamps. I hope you will go check out the store. You won't be disappointed. Hello all of you Peachy Keen Fans!

We had 121 participants for our last challenge! You guys are amazing! I loved looking at all the beautiful and cute and fun cards that you all made! This challenge is sure to inspire you. Our very own Viv created the fabulous sketch and Angelica provided the wonderful theme of monochromatic! Monochromatic cards are so beautiful! I don't know why I don't do them more often. For my card I used PK-034 Oh Baby! I really like this set and have used the Teddy Bear often. He is so cute!

I stamped the bear and the booties onto DCWV Linen Closet. This is really a beautiful stack! I love the colors! I think it makes the perfect baby card for boy or girl! The patterned paper I used reminded me of a baby quilt. The buttons are from my stash and the twine is by Martha Stewart.
The paper was distressed with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Thank you so much for stopping by. Please have a look at what the rest of the DT came up with and get all the details for the challenge by clicking here. You're going to love what you see!

Have you checked out the new dies in The Scrapping Cottage store? Cuteness overload! The die used for this card is Puppy With Heart. This die has lots of possibilities. It could be used for a variety of occasions by changing the accessories. Looks like Nikki and I are both wanting some sunshine in our lives. lol Enjoy the day!

Happy Birthday Angelica! Enjoy Today!!

Today I have 2 cards to show you. Angelica, Owner and Artist of Market Street Stamps, is celebrating her birthday today. Happy Birthday Angelica! I hope you have a wonderful day, doing whatever you want to do! It's your day! Pamper yourself!

Angelica's mini birthday blog hop!

Hello Market Street Friends!
I sure am having fun as Guest Designer this month. I used the Loopy Loo Polkas to create the background paper and the Enjoy Today stamp set. I love polka dots so I thought the two would look great together stamped in red. I used some red and white bakers twine by Martha Stewart and wrapped it around the background paper. I pleated, scrunched, and inked a strip of patterned paper to create the faux ribbon at the bottom of the card and finished it off with a button and a few punched hearts. I really hope that YOU, Enjoy Today!

Let's hop, hop, HOP!

Hello Everyone!
Hope you had fun with the sneak peeks! I am so happy to be designing with these very talented ladies!!  It is such an honor! Just when you think the stamps can't get any cuter, Kathy blows it out of the park once again!! I adore this little St. Patty's mouse! I dressed him in his green polka dot suit. He is so happy as he slides down the rainbow into a pot of gold. I stamped the gold coins onto some gold metallic cardstock and heat embossed it with gold. I drew the rainbow onto a separate piece of white cardstock and colored it with my copics. I googled rainbows to be sure I had the colors in the right order. (I love Google!) Since cutting his tail would have been so difficult, I chose to give him a wire tail. I stamped some of the shamrocks onto the green polka dot paper, cut them out, and popped several of them on the card, with one in his hand. The finished card size is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2.

One lucky commenter will win this brand new stamp set that I am showcasing, PK-283 Cheers for Green Beer! Please leave only one comment on this post for your chance to win. Be sure and visit each stop along the way, and leave a comment for more chances to win. Have FUN hopping! I know I will! Thanks so much for stopping by! The next stop along the way is the very talented Joanna. If you get lost along the way I have posted the hop order below.

Rolling in the "Dough"

Good Morning!
Today I am rolling in the dough, cookie dough that is! I used the Valentine Baking Set dies. My Mom had the best Sugar Cookie Recipe that is a favorite in our household. When my kids were in elementary school, I would bake them for Valentine's Day, Halloween, and Christmas and they were always a hit with their classmates and teachers.

This is a double die set. I love this set, and making this card has made me hungry for my Mom's Sugar Cookies.

Cottage Cutz has lots of wonderful Valentine and cooking dies. There are some great new designs in the store. I may be spending some "dough" in the Scrapping Cottage Store.

Have a great day!

Peachy Keen Challenge 43

Hello Peachy Keen Fans!!

Seems like such a long time since we did a PK challenge. So happy to get a fresh start to the New Year! Todays challenge is a wonderful sketch challenge. I really like the sketch Angelica provided for us and look forward to seeing what you all come up with.

For my card, I punched some one inch circles from SU Pawsitively Prints gingham designer paper. With a scissors, I tried to make them have a more realistic shape. I used the Happy Lashes and Simple Sallies to stamp the faces onto the cherries. For the cherry stems I used Martha Stewart red and white twine and cinched it with a white polka dot bow. I used Spellbinders, Beaded Circles Nestabilities to frame the cherries. The "Just Smile" sentiment is from PK-225 Happy Flowers and Cheerful Phrases stamp set. Thanks for stopping by! I hope to see you play along.

This week we also have our first PK Guest Designer, Theresa Harris (http://www.thescrapbookingqueen.com).

Be sure and check out Theresa's blog as well as the rest of the Design Team for some fabulous inspiration.

As always, I appreciate you all so much for visiting, and for your sweet comments.

Enjoy your day!

Follow Your Heart

Hello Market Street Friends!
I wanted to share a couple of cards I made using the Follow Your Heart stamp set from Market Street Stamps. I love bird stamps and this set has 3 different sizes. It also has 4 different sizes of heart stamps in solid and outline form. I love the little hearts. I used them to make the background paper by stamping them in red and pink using both the solid and outline stamps. The Be Mine stamps are from my stash. I used the medium sized bird and reverse stamped the image.

If you would like to see a tutorial on how I mirror stamp, you may click here. The birds were colored with copics. I used Marvy punches for the circle and scallop. The polka dot ribbon is from Stampin Up.

For the second card I used the heart stamps to create the nest. I used the large bird stamp and did a small amount of paper piecing. I made these cards for children . Card Cupids is having a challenge for Valentines. If you would like to read more about Card Cupids you may do so here.

Angelica, I wanted to thank you again for allowing me to be guest designer for the month of January. I am having lots of fun with your wonderful stamps!

Paper Piecing and a Special Discount!

Hello Everyone!
I am so excited to be a guest designer for Market Street Stamps. For my card today, I chose to use the adorable robot stamps, Robo Love and Robo Star.
I love to stamp on patterned paper and paper piece my images. I love the character it brings to the stamp.

I stamped the images onto a 4"x5" piece of Whisper White cardstock by Stampin Up.

I cut a cloud template from cardstock and used pigment ink and a sponge to create the sky background. It is okay to get ink on the image since I am going to paper piece the images. When sponging, I swipe the sponge away from the template, or use small swirls along the edge of the template. You may want to practice on scrap paper first.

When you are happy with the sky you may sponge the grass with pigment ink until you get the look you desire.

Stamp the images again onto the patterned papers of your choice. Cut and paste the patterned paper to the images. Embellish as desired. I used a SU punch for the red hearts and a white Sakura gel pen for the dots. Tied a little red bow from 1/8" grossgrain ribbon. I used a corner rounder on two opposite corners, layered it onto Real Red cardstock, and then onto a light gingham print card base.

I have a special 15% discount code that you may use at Market Street Stamps store. You may find it on my blog in the left sidebar.

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure and visit often to see all the fun projects the new Design Team has in store for you.
