A Little Bit of Punch Art

Hello friends!  Today I have a little project to share with you, using 3 punches and some stamps.  I was looking at my SU Ornament punch and thought if I add a Peachy Keen face and some hair it would make a cute face to go along with the lemons and sentiment I was going to use. The sentiment, " When life gives you lemons, squirt it in the eye!" from PK-164 Fruit Sentiments Two was the inspiration for my card.   For the lemons, I used PK-239 Faceless Fruit.  I used the watermelon stamp to make the lemon wedges.  Using Memento Dandelion ink, and a little bit of masking, I stamped three watermelon wedges.  For the squirt droplets I used the water droplet stamp from PK-222 Happy Go Lucky Elephant and the mustard drop stamp from PK-115 Let's Ketchup.  I could have hand drawn the droplets, but I know some of you get nervous about drawing so I used stamps from other sets.  I did, however, draw the lemon segments with my Copics and white gel pen.
Here is a photo of the punches and stamps I used to make the PK face.
The ornament punch was used for the base of the head.  The top of the ornament when turned upside down, becomes the neck of the girl.  I liked the hair on the small angel in the January 2012 Stamp Club set, PKSC-01 January 2012, so I stamped the small angel and cut the hair from it.  I used the smaller face stamp with her tongue sticking out and stamped it on the ornament punched shape.  I wanted a stamp with one eye closed so she wouldn't get squirted in the eye.  Her ruffled collar was made with 2 scallop punches.
Here is the completed card.  I hope by showing you that you can use parts of a stamped image and punches to create something new will inspire you to see the endless possibilities with the tools you have at your disposal.
Have a wonderful day and  thanks for stopping by!

Janice

Some Peachy Cuteness to Share With You

Here are a few cards I have made that I wanted to share with you, using those adorable Peachy Keen Stamps that so many of us ENJOY!  I used PK-164 Fruit Sentiments Two and PK-239 Faceless Fruit and PK-146 Piles of Smiles to create this cute and simple card.

To make the next two cards i used PKSC-07 July 2012.  I paper pieced the little boy and wanted him to have a shirt on under his bib overalls.  The shirt is larger than the overalls, so you will need to stamp and cut the shirt and stamp and cut the overalls.  Place the overalls over the t-shirt and cut away the excess t-shirt.
No paper piecing on the little girl.  She was stamped and colored with Copics.  I used the flowers from the mailbox stamp to add to the grass.  The flowers were colored with Copics and highlighted with a white gel pen.
As always, thank you for visiting!

Hugs and smiles,
Janice

Still some time to join the Peachy Challenge

Hello everyone.  This card is for PK challenge 13-7.  You still have a little time to play along,   Here is another card that I made using the split negative technique.  A tutorial for this technique can be found HERE.  I used PK-169, Geared Up Background.  I also used PK-186 Made on Planet Earth Sentiments.
I stamped the background with black pigment ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I stamped another in red and heat embossed it.  Then I cut both images down the middle and matched the patterns and adhered them to black cardstock.  I cut one of the images to be smaller and layered it on top, matching the gears.  I even cut half of a black gear to go on half of the red one.  I hope you like it.

Janice

Freckled Fawn and PK- Blog Hop

Good morning everyone.  So today we have partnered with Freckled Fawn to show you some creative ways to use the products we were given.  Each designer received Washi tape, wooden arrows, and heart shaped paper clips.  The washi tape has many different styles.  I have 2 cards to share with you.
I used the washi tape to create the cupcake liner, the rolled flower and the hearts.

For this card I used the tape to make the flower petals.  The paperclips were used to make the leaves for the flower.

Please check out all the creative ways the other designers used the Freckled Fawn products they were given by clicking here.

Hidden Pocket Card

Hello Everyone!  Sorry for the late post.  I am so used to posting on the dates ending in 7 that I forgot that it was changed this month because of it being such a short month.  I have a hidden pocket card to share with you today.  It was so much fun to make and I have to say I am pretty happy with the results.  I used the CottageCutz Vintage Vanity and Stool die.
The pocket is behind the image.

I made the bedroom scene and traced and cut the oval out for the mirror with my detail scissors.  I cut the vanity mirror frame 3 times and layered them on top of each other.  I did this so the table of the vanity would lay smoother over the "woodwork" and not have a bump.
This is the back of the pocket before adhering to the card base.

This is the card front with tag in pocket and below is a picture of the sentiment I stamped in the mirror window when the tag is removed.
And here is the final card.  I ended up cutting it down to fit a standard card base of 4 and 1/4 X 5 and 1/2.
If you have any questions please ask.  I love to help if I can.  Have a great day!

Hugs and smiles,
Janice
